For freedom Christ has set us free. Stand firm, therefore, and do not submit again to a yoke of slavery. Galatians 5:1
In Christ we are set free. Both free from sin and free to love without limits. This week as we rejoice and celebrate the freedom from being ruled/subject as a colony to Britain, I invite you to consider how you have been set free to love.
Independence Day commemorates the United Sates laying down it’s claim to be a free and independent nation. The video above has inspired me to see how when we are willing to go toward the which is hard and not be afraid we can touch the lives of others.
Voices of Service (the singing group in the video above) have a common bond-to serve our country as part of the Army both retired and active. They also have a common purpose to use their freedom and their experiences to both talk about the hard things that come in serving our country and celebrate the power of serving.
Appreciating their service and the sacrifices and service of many to our country I invite you to take to heart their courage. The bond of courage and song have united them. They are also singing in honor of others. They want to spread a message of love and hope to show what music can do. May their song inspire you to use your freedom to let your light shine. And join us this weekend as we sing together in worship Saturday at 5pm and Sunday morning at 8am and 10:30am. Let peace and freedom ring.
