preschool mission & philosophy

The mission of Lord of the Hills Christian Preschool is to work cooperatively with parents and the community to facilitate a program that creates a solid educational foundation for young children. It is our goal to help preschoolers grow intellectually, socially, emotionally, spiritually and physically through hands-on learning experiences that meet the individual needs, interests and abilities of each child.

The educational philosophy reflects the basic concept that God created each individual with unique gifts. It is our responsibility as educators to help each child realize his or her potential through guidance, encouragement and Christian love. We strive to create a setting where our children will become lifelong discoverers, problem solvers and responsible human beings with an understanding of their connection to God and their community. We help our children live in, learn about, better understand and handle his or her environment to the best of his or her abilities through whole learning. We will accomplish this through our professionally trained staff and excellent teacher-to-student ratio.

curriculum

Our preschool curriculum is designed to instill in our children Christian values through Bible lessons, prayers, songs, academic skills and social relationships. New themes are introduced each month and units are built around the themes. This gives the children a variety of experiences in using small and large motor skills, music and movement, arts and crafts, academic centers, free-play, stories and self-expression.

The variety of sessions promotes progressive learning experiences beginning with a first preschool encounter for the three year old child to preparing for Kindergarten with the four and five year old child. Our school is licensed by the State of Colorado. Our policies, procedures and schedules meet the State requirements. Our preschool is inspected annually by the Health and Fire Departments and meets or exceeds all local and state requirements and regulations.

Lord of the Hills Christian Preschool accepts children three to five years old. The school admits students of any race, color, national and ethnic origin to all the rights, privileges, programs, and activities generally accorded or made available to students at the school. It does not discriminate on the basis of race, color, national and ethnic origin in administration of its educational policies, admissions policies and financial aid programs.

preschool costs

Lord of the Hills offers several different classes.

Tuition is divided into 10 monthly payments for your convenience. There is a 5% discount if the school year is prepaid in August.

Lord of the Hills follows the Cherry Creek School District’s traditional calendar. Preschool begins in mid-August and concludes at the end of May.

Preschool is 3 hours of learning and fun! The morning classes are 8:30am to 11:30 am, and the afternoon classes are 12:15pm to 3:15pm.
