Lord of the Hills Church
  • about small groups

    Who can join small groups?
All adults – single, married with spouse, married without spouse – are welcome. Some groups, from time to time, may include other ages. Members of Lord of the Hills, as well as friends, are welcome.

What types of groups are offered?
Our goal is to provide a wide variety of topics, formats and perspectives to meet the needs and interests of people wherever they are on their spiritual journeys. Types of groups include Spiritual Groups, Social & Support Groups, Marriage & Family Groups, Activity Groups, Seminars & Retreats, and Other Events. Commitment Groups agree to commit for a specific period of time, such as a few weeks or a specific number of sessions. Drop-in Groups are open to newcomers at any session.

Where and when do these groups meet?
Ongoing groups usually meet in homes, on various days and at various times. Some meet weekly, some every other week or twice a month, some monthly. Workshops, retreats and other events are usually held at the church or other public locations. Most groups meet September through May, taking the summer off; however, a few groups have the summer as their primary meeting time.

How much does it cost to join a group?
Usually there is no fee. Any costs are generally for:

    • Books, materials, or supplies
    • Lodging and meal costs for retreats
    • A course or group facilitated by an outside presenter

However, scholarships are available, and cost should never be a prohibiting factor.
